Four Years Later: From Stylist to Salon Owner of Assembly Hair + Beauty Bar

Hello everyone! I'm Emily, the proud owner of Assembly Hair + Beauty Bar, opened our doors in January 2020 (perfect timing, right?). Based in Cincinnati, we're a full-service hair salon that's all about making you look and feel fabulous.

My journey in the industry has been quite the ride. I started at a fantastic salon in downtown Cincinnati and trained under Sue Beck Currie before venturing into a loft space shared with a friend. Leaving the traditional salon environment made me realize how much I missed that unique feeling, which fueled the vision for Assembly.

While dreaming about the future of our salon, I dived headfirst into continuous education. Understanding every aspect of hair became my passion, leading me to attend numerous classes and educational programs. I invested in learning from the best, attending two in-person classes by the amazing @lisalovesbalayage, absorbing all her online content, and joining the dynamic community at HairBangers. Shoutouts to @keyaartistically, @brendaamaral.com_, @thekolourkulture, and @truehaireducation for taking my skills to the next level. Although saddened by the closure of the American Board of Certified Hair Colorists, attending their Summit was an unforgettable experience. @brittseva's @thethrivingstylist took our business and salon to new heights. These are just a few examples of the incredible knowledge I've gained, and I'm forever grateful to the educators who have poured their wisdom into my journey.
